APPOINTMENT of CURATORS

The Mental Heath Tribunal for Scotland invites applications from solicitors enrolled in Scotland of at least two years’ standing to act as curators in the following areas:

Highland, Grampian, Lothian, Argyll and Bute, and Dumfries and Galloway.

To request an Information Pack, applicants should telephone Agnes Ferrie on 01698 390012 or email her at Agnes.Ferrie@Scotland.gsi.gov.uk.  Completed applications should be sent to Agnes Ferrie (i) either, by conventional mail at The Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland, Bothwell House, Hamilton Business Park, Caird Park, Hamilton ML3 0QA (ii) or, by e-mail.  Completed applications should consist of (a) a letter setting out why the applicant should be appointed to the Tribunal’s List of Curators (b) a curriculum vitae which demonstrates relevant qualities, experience and competencies, and (c) a copy of the applicant’s current Practising Certificate.

IiP Status

The MHTS values its staff at all levels and is keen to develop their professional business skills wherever it can. To this end, the MHTS intends to gain IiP status by the end of 2009. In October 2007, the Deputy Chief Executive Adrian Martin, formally made this commitment to Investors in People Scotland and this key objective is now a part of our overall business plan.
